5PinkArrows- check butts evrry day. I never wet a chick. I put drops of warm water on poo and a paper towel at the other end so it doesn't run on the chick. I get it all off and dab olive oil on the back end to help keep more poo from sticking.

My new feeder is in the chicken coop and being used (here two anconas are working together

)

I used some TJ eggs to test my incubator. Here the results: T on the left, J on the right. Hatched on Thursday

And my newest eddition to the family, Clyde and Monti

ca--How did you hatch Trader Joe's chicks? Did you buy fertilized eggs? I thought for sure thos would be too old to hatch. And your Alpacas are sooooo cute!! I am going to show that feeder to my husband. It looks awesome!

As for our little chicklet, she didn't make it. She was gone before I went to bed last night. My daughter now has to rename the other bantam buff brahma. She had named them Pride and Prejudice. It just doesn't sound right with one of those names. At least we will never lose another one to pasty butt. I will be much more vigilant now that I know it is an actual condition.

I feed our extra kefir grains to the chickens and dogs all the time. What else would I do with them? It seems like such a waste to throw them away, and the animals love them. I fix kefir smoothies pretty often for the family. My goal is every day, but life gets in the way sometimes. Awesome stuff!

ca, very nice feeder! It looks better than mine. Thanks for posting the pic. Just a bit of constructive advice, I'd use a smaller brick and put it on the outside edge of the treadle. You want to get them used to approaching the feeder from the front. Good luck with the training! Nice critters too.

i saw a forum that said the usps required you to be npip certified to ship hatching eggs
or to shipped chicks does anyone know please let me know thanks
either the usps required it or the department of agriculture
if anyone know's please let me know thanks
how many poultry is the minumum to get the certification
what are the fee's to be certfied,
