5PinkArrows- They are from my Cuckoo Marans. In January they were a solid really dark brown. Now they are the lighter brown with dark speckles. They must be running out of Marans paint and just sputter now?? I don't know, but I like them!! It will be interesting to see if your Cuckoo Marans does the same.

Sad day in our chicken world. My sister lost 3 chickens to an unknown predator last night. She had 5 chickens all raised by us.
The two pullets that we were trying so hard to integrate (with your help) were taken along with a year old barred rock that we raised for her last year. She has her RIR and EE left and they are pretty freaked out.
I'll get more details from her later and maybe you guys can help us ID the culprit and figure out how to stop it.
