Can someone with mulberry tree experience help me out? Is it too soon to tell if this 2-3 year old is a female? I see these little knobby/alieny things... is that fruit???

Obviously you need to call it to HIS attention " HUBBY! What is this bird? WHERE did it come from? [hands on hip and give him the accusing "eye"]... Did you go out and buy me a "present"?... What are we going to do with it?... Well, I guess we need to build a new pen for the poor baby..."

Completely override and refuse to believe any of his protests, and throw in a few "THANK YOU"s for good measure.

edited to add: and never admit that you know what it is...at least not until it is blatently obvious. Keep asking him. "Honey, what kind of chicken IS this? It is getting HUGE! And ...it looks different."
