It just dawned on me that I put eggs under my broody hens on the 26th. I don't know why, but I was under the impression that I stuck them under the chickens on the 1st. That means they should hatch tomorrow! I went out to look, I can hear the eggs peeping!

Yes, nothing like a warm cup of worm tea for the plants, eventually for you if you later eat the plant..

I'm interested in worms, problem is getting to Tucson before they croak. Hubby will be teaching at the Academy Wednesday and then my normal trip to Tucson is around the 15th of the month. I just went last weekend. When are you planning to order the worms? I had a slight thought about getting earth worms also.. Can you feed them the chicken poo? Just trying to recycle as much as I can..

Worm casting are the second best fertilizer in the world.It only takes 5% to make a diff.in a plants growth and the bacteria in the castings help protect the seeds from molds and bad bacteria.I have two neglected towers that should have a few thousand eggs,did start feeding them this last wk.​

I re-confirmed the PETCO price and warranty this morning. The shipping is coming up as free, at least for now. The free shipping baffled the customer service reps, but they said it was correct (and I saved a chat just in case). I am happy to organize a joint order, but AZdreamer, you should be able to get the same free shipping without worrying about picking them up in Tucson. I am planning on ordering 5000 3/4" to 1" worms ($32), which is a couple 1000 more than I need, but costs the same as 2000. Gallo, how many are you thinking of buying We could split a 5000 order if you are only looking for a couple thousand.

I want to take advantage of the free shipping, so I am going to place an order later today. AZdreamer, let me know if you still want me to order some for you. Gallo, let me know if you want to split 5000.

Desertrat Thanks for checking the price, that was nice! It sounds like your colony is doing great. I'm looking forward to having a colony, but I am pretty sure they will give me the heebie jeebies at first!
