The wikipedia article on calcium carbonate is interesting, if you want to get a bit sciencey. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calcium_carbonate

I
will now work on a simple process to turn egg shells into pearls and antacid tablets. Shouldn't be too hard, right?

That was interesting.

I think you will have better luck with the antacids, though. I'm afraid for the pearls you are probably missing the very important ingredient of oyster slime.

Laree- I'm very jealous of your very clean spice cupboard. I bet you also probably know everything that is in there, huh? I wish I knew everything that was in my spice cupboard.

I can't make coffee on Satuday--I forgot that we're planning to go to the lawn show in Tucson. So, if you want to keep it at Seattle Espresso, that's fine, but if you want to move it to a closer location for those that can make it...I should be able to make it a week from Saturday, though

Is she staying out of the nest all day? Or making a brief exit to eat, drink and relieve herself? If hte later, no problem, but if she is only on hte nest at night, she isn't really broody--she just decided she likes the next box as a bed. And the eggs are almost certainly no good after the 2nd day of brooding at night, but off them during the day.
