Arizona Chickens

We have 6 out (2 fbcm, 4 wa), and one more pip so far

Probably we will be waking up to at least a few more - 8 left to go.
They are so adorable!!! I did have to help one of the WA babies, it had started to zip just a little bit, and then stayed that way so long the membrane was starting to look dried up. So, I just carefully took down the top half of the egg which didn't have any blood vessels in it, and left him/her bottom half in the shell so it could rest like that until it was ready to come out. He/She is out running around with the others, hopefully it will be okay. He/she is acting just fine, nice and active, just like the rest, but a bit smaller than the others. I'm pretty sure he/she would have died though if I hadn't helped because the membrane by his/her head where the tiny zip was had become really tough from exposure to the air. Once I got down a little the membrane was not tough and the chick could move around in it. I could tell because it had changed color from white to a yellow tinged and more sticky looking. So, at least he/she has a chance this way. The other one that was slow to zip hatched while I was out. 96+

MMMM I think chickens are pretty dumb in the food department - if it looks interesting it's down the hatch before they have time to register they ate something. Mine ate foam that had come out of a pool lounge - one of those coated foam lounges, it had cracked and foam came out. I raked and picked the area over oh so carefully before we got the chickens. Somehow they find pieces buried in the gravel and I have to chase them down and pull it out of their beaks so they don't eat it. I just about died one day when Elvis found a piece as big as his head and ate it before I could grab him! I was sure he was going to die from it. Same things with dried leaves that blow into their area - run after them and down the hatch. So, my 2 cents is they would eat something poisonous. I bet they would even eat an oleander leaf before they noticed how bad it tastes. Then probably they wouldn't ever eat another, but who knows if they would live through eating one leaf.

Hye all you in AZ. I have a rescued puppy that needs a ride from NV to AZ is anyone going that way that could take him up to my grand parents?
Thanks Gaited Horse

had to edit the other one was confusing

You should use periods and commas, and capitalize the first letter of each new sentence. Makes it much less confusing, and you will probably get more replies to your posts if they are more understandable.
