We are not in Tucson, but come into town sometimes. We are about an hour and a half south of Tucson. I also have the human kind of critters. There are not a lot of difference, really. They are both super cute, sweet, and stinky.

You can't have 13 chickens! That is incredibly unlucky! 14 isn't good either, because if one died you'd be unlucky again. I think you need at least 6 more, just to be safe.

Just think about how much insectly sex they are having, with their exoskeletons and segmented legs all rubbing together... you should play some Barry White for them. You'll have TONS of mealworms in no time!

I don't think I want to keep any from the last hatch of Aloha Projects! I have a roo that is perfect (he has a few isolated feathers with barring, the rest are either orange or white, and a few black feathers in his tail), and 2 black cochin mixes, and a weird half barred / half red chicken with puffy cheeks. :)

13 being unlucky is all about perspective. my husband was born on a '13' and it's always been his lucky number - so it makes sense for us

at first when i started to read your reply, i thought, 'oh no! i'm breaking some sort of city ordinance and have too many chickens!'. yay for being wrong!

what's funny is that i know tha several of our neighbors have chickens (the one just on the other side of the house next to us... and the house next to THAT has several coops set up for chickens, ducks & turkeys and that's just the birds i can see). i've been wondering if those neighbors are here on byc....

TT! :
