Arizona Chickens

TT! :

I watched the chicken for a bit. I haven't seen him sneeze again. Am I over reacting? I only saw the one episode of sneezing/mucus. His breathing sounds normal for the moment, too.

No you are not over reacting. IB can kill within 24 hours. Do you have any human antibiotics on hand? Could your Dr. (boss) prescribe you some Keflex caps and you could mix it up and syringe it down his throat?

Oh and yeah, you are really sounding a lot like Laree!.. I'm dyin' laughin' here.

You're stealing my material.

What? You mean yours is trying to wipe his own butt, too? Mine went, "Look, I wiped my butt! I have poop on my fingers! Help me wash them off!" *grabs my dress with the poop fingers and starts tugging me towards the sink*

He used an entire roll of toilet paper to wipe. The toilet was filled with huge wads of it.

I'm with you guys. I have a 3 year old, too. He tries to wipe, but the poo usually ends up on the toilet seat and the paper is clean. Sometimes he actually does a pretty good job, though. Now, if I can just get my 6 (yes, 6) year old to wipe...

They don't warn you about these things in the baby books.

I am so happy those butt wipin' days have finally come to an END. I hope my eldest hold off making grandkids for a few years... course they'd have to get married first... I hope they put that off for a while too.

I was dying with the poop stories. I thought I was the only one that loses her mind daily. I have a major bossy 18 month old. Her favorite sentences (just in the last week) are "leave me alone" "put me down" "go away" "no way" I don't know if she will make it to 2. The other child is 4 and is usually where the 18 month pick up her sayings.

I don't have his number.

Blah, everything involves a ton of running around. I'm going to just keep an eye on the chicken and go first thing in the morning. He seems okay for the moment.

My girls would be in serious trouble if they didn't have my number... I just FB messaged both of them to tell them my 8AM tomorrow cancelled.

Anyone need their teeth cleaned???....

Stardust had medium to large barrels with sealing lids for around $3 apiece. On the northside of Broadway, about 1/4 mile east of Dobson - it is fairly well hidden & is on the east side of a very large parking lot. Great used building materials store.

Unfortunately, Stardust had zero, nada, zip idea what I was talking about. Walked the place, no barrels of any sort. Pooh.

I believe we got our netting (I think it's called deer netting or bird net on the package- 1/2" squares) at Lowe's in Scottsdale (McDowell/Hayden Roads)

and the fencing (4' high 1/2 to 3/4" squares made of harder thicker plastic than the netting) at Home Depot at Riverview in northwestern Mesa (Dobson/8th Street or near 101/202).

Metal barrels with locking lids at ACE hardware (at both the 1st Street/McDonnel or at Pauls ACE at Scottsdale/Thomas or even at Home Depot-but more size choices at ACE than at Home Depot, if I remember correctly).

Here comes the storm here near Riverview!

Sadly, we're on a property in Mesa which enables us to have 10 chickens -- and I'm not clear yet if it's "10 hens + 1 rooster" or "10 chickens, including up to 1 rooster".... *le sigh*

It's probably good though, or else I'd dive into the deep end and get in way over my head from the very beginning.

As a ferret owner, I'm *very* familiar with the math that happens when you find a creature you love to keep and care for.

Anne.

I am in Mesa too. I think I can only have 10 chickens total (as I read it) including one rooster only if he doesn't violate the noise ordinance. I decided to have 7 hens leaving room to get more after a couple of years so I don't need to make anyone into chicken soup very soon when they stop being as productive laying eggs. I decided against a rooster because I don't need one for eggs and I don't want to annoy neighbors. I would rather fly more below the radar and keep my hens than press the issue with any uncooperative neighbors.

Hola again TT!
- I also have VetRX, human tetracycline and doxycyline, and Sulmet if it would help. I could still bring them up if it is a necessity, just call ( really, I can come).

RE the other issues, I am beginning to be glad I just have to deal with feathered and furry poop!
