Arizona Chickens

A bunch, we can whip out her project start pretty quickly, but will have to manufacture a little at a time over next few months. i'm looking for special beads for it too, but she can
wire wrap until I find them.

GAH! Where where you last week when I culled 30+ roos?

Well, if this storm doesnt soak everything, I will pick up all the feathers laying about and send them to you.

Thanks sweetie. She just told me today. She has the timing abilities of a Los Angeles bus driver.

Oh no! That is the worst.

That monsoon storm was BADLY needed. The chickens are wet (too dumb to go into the coop when it starts raining) but they're much cooler than they've been. It was 90 degrees inside at 2pm, and 109 outside at the coop. Hopefully it'll dissipate some of the built up heat in the ground and the house as well.

Those little bantams are really getting after it! We've gotten 22 eggs in 20 days from them. Little eggs, but they're pretty. I don't eat eggs, but my wife has given them high marks. It'll be nice when it's cool enough to bake things again and I can start using them.

I'm starting to wonder if the state doesn't need a law that allows people to have chickens. Maybe set a minimum (like 3-4) that people are allowed to keep. That way HOAs or cities can still pass limits, or laws like no roos, but at least people could have birds. As for the "oh but they're dirty and smelly birds" bit, existing animal welfare laws would apply to them anyway.

mclevinson, I'll pull out my boxes and see what I can part with for feathers. I'm an avid fly-tier (I teach tying too) and have a pretty extensive collection. I was shocked a couple months ago when one of my mentors offered to buy any of my silver grade saddles or capes for $400 each. Those were only about $80-$90 when I originally bought them. I've been tempted to sell the whole bunch and buy more when the fad passes.
