TT!, that is one strange vine. I don't recognize it at all. The flowers are especially odd to me. Could it be a gourd? I've never grown gourds.

I was thinking gourd too... The flowers look like gourds, they tend to be paper thin. I've grown several types and just cant think of what has spines.

TT - if you wind up with gourds, please save me a couple.

My mother carves / decorates / burns / intalagos (& every other craft verb you can think of!) them.

She won second place in a national event and has her work in the Mesa Arts Center.

My wife orders through Azure every now and then. I was just wondering if it would cost the same or close it would be worth it. If not no big deal, just got to figure out what to do with this shady feed.

I took the recipe I thought of using and priced everything out per pound on Azure. After seeing that it was a little more that way I decided against it. It's just too easy buying the bags and I don't have to store everything separately.

If you absolutely don't want to toss it maybe you could mix it 50/50 with some good stuff, or sell it on craigslist, or feed it to the wild birds (unless it's pellets).

Hereis my luffa plant. Seeds took almost a year to sprout. Harvested quite a lot of them. The plant will take over the garden!

Gave some to the gals at work. They loved it. Didn't try it myself though. I saved 6 seeds from the lot. Had so many seeds, gave some to friends and got rid of the rest.

The little oblong thing with spines is the closet it has to fruit so far. It is small... in the middle of the picture, and up a little.

I say cucumber as well.... They are sometimes spiny like that when young depending on type.​

I would say some sort of cuke or melon. Cucumbers ARE melons, and they are alll fairly similar-looking when it comes to the leaves and drab little flowers.

There was 10 pages to catch up on....people, you crack me up!

Nothing fancy going on here. I am still gimpy, but I managed to clean much of the coop and run. I kicked the chickens out of the meatie pen and planted it as a chicken garden. Here's hoping they don't break in and kill everything before it is established.

Taste it! If it's sort of sour and pickle, cucumber tasting, it's probably a Mexican sour gherkin. That's what it looks like to me. People say they're really good in salads, sort of like a cute little pickle that you don't have to bother making into a pickle.
It could be something you never had seeds to. Seed companies are notorious for getting seeds mixed up.

My mil decided that since I like cats that she should provide me with all sorts of cat decor. Mind you, I said I like cats, the living, breathing, scratching, purring kind, not inanimate decor. That was long before I had chickens. I actually prefer to choose my own decor, whether or not it relates to a hobby is immaterial.
