She seems to be fine now. Sorry, I panicked a little. (why isn't there an "embarrassed" smiley?)

There was only one drop of blood. I wiped it off with a paper towel and put a tiny bit of bacitracin on it and it seemed to stop completely.
I just seemed to remember reading something about if you pull off the umbilical, the chick is doomed.
Of course, I did it just as I had to run out the door and I didn't have time to do a search.

I'm down to 6 chicks now. I delivered 4 to my friend who ordered with me and 3 to Tracy.

I'll try to get pictures tomorrow, but it's another busy day. I'm sure I'll be able to do it Saturday at the latest.
In the meantime, this is a fun thread: I posted Daisy pictures. (she's an Ideal 236, our favorite right now)

Congratulations on the chicks and thanks for sharing the pictures, they are so cute. What did you decide for bedding, am I seeing rice hulls there?

I vote for smaller jars next time. Let's try again very soon!

Does any one know where I can get some bales of grass or food for cattle maybe from some one who grows it or so? I am getting mini cows and need to find some where I can get a bale for less than $12. If any one knows anything please send me a pm or something.

Thnx

I do not know what it costs but there are a multitude of feed stores in and around Mesa. Higley feeds (Williamsfield just west of Higley) B-B (Ironwood just south of Apache) Superstition (Idaho just south of University)

Good luck!

they start at around $14 a bale. the $12 is from a farmer that grows it.
