Arizona Chickens

OK the first roost. This is going to give them access to the upper level (coop proper as it would be)

Yes it's slanted, yes it's on purpose.

The hatch date was September 15th. I guess I'm going by the 2 months = 8 weeks thing.

I sure hope she's a she. Definitely the most lovable one.

You can put your hand under her from the front and scoop her up and she she'll set there in the palm of your hand. If she get's her feet under her shell squat down and just settle in on your arm or hand. She loves being pet and I seem to be rambling...

OK...so I guess it's time to deal with the issues I had last week.

I believe (convinced) that my Serama roo died from the nerve version of Mareks. He lasted for a week, then succumbed.

Situation: He was in a coop with his 2 wives (kids said if they were making babies they HAD to be married). This coop was about 30' northwest of my large coop and about 40' northeast of my banty coop. He was never introduced to any of my current flock. All of my standard & banty chickens have been restricted to their respective coops since I got the Seramas just over a month ago (my version of quarantine - not letting anyone around them). We usually get our winds from the southeast here & not from the north...but I'm sure that's just wishful hoping.

So, I guess what I need to know is: do I have to cull my other 2 Seramas that were in the coop with him? do I have to cull all my birds? what do I need to do to that coop (scrap & burn or clean the jeepers out of it). do I need to re-vaccinate for Mareks? anything else that I may not be thinking of? oh yeah...and my peacocks & my pekin ducks...are they susceptible to Mareks?

Thanks everyone!!!
