Thanks, Mahonri. I don't blame the valbazen, but am wondering if I either overdosed her, or her system was so overloaded with worms, that any dewormer might have killed her? It's just such a coincidence, that she was fine yesterday when I dewormed her and then tonight she is dead.

My 2 Barred Rocks were like the grandmas of the flock (one is 3 years old and the one that died was 2). They always hung out together like best buds - I'm sad to have lost one of the pair.

I'm really sorry about your chicky.

That's really sad.

I'm with Mahonri...maybe it IS just coincidence...? We've had situation where pets get sick after they've had, for example, something to eat off the table or certain medications, OTC. We automatically assume it was whatever we gave them because it makes the most sense, but a lot of the time, we find out that its something else. Like just a stomach bug or we've even had terrible situations, where they are really, really sick and its something completely unreleated (like eating rocks...darn puppies).

for anyone interrested, the group bulk order of organic feed that's going on over on the VPA is nearing it's cutoff of 5000# . you can order ANY type of organic feed that they carry, with shipping they all roughly come to around $18.50 per 50# and they will be bagged. drop point is now 12thst and indian school. they have chick starter, grower, corn and soy free layer, turkey starter, turkey grower.........you name it!

I've got a pair too who always hang together. I'm so attached to them at 8 weeks I can only imagine 3 years.
