Arizona Chickens

I poured the first bag-o-feed into the treadle feeder yesterday - also wrote the date on the inside of the lid so I can track it better.

Here is a close up of the feed in case anyone is interested.

This was the 17% organic broiler chick finisher.

I thought it was going to be pulverized & formed into pellets - then crumbled into powder.

There is some powder in it as well.

I will ask my friend if she might want a few of these cute birds. Where is the guy located that has them?
Oops I just noticed it said New River.

We use a shop vac to pick up the poo/soiled terramigo and the feathers....sometimes a shovel and a rubbermaid for more scoop-worthy parts....

Usually I end up making a big mess and thinking that their has to be an easier way!! The dimensions inside the coop are pretty tight and make cleaning a pain

They're probably going through a small only. Wonder why so spooky? Did you have all those feathers yesterday? Makes me wonder if something tried to get in and scared them enough that they scrambled and lost feathers.
Meg might visit and get your feathers. I usually just pick up by hand, if not too many. If tons, I do a coop clean out if it bothers me anough.

My Hubby fell in love with two runner ducklings so now we have two duckilings in my room to keep warm. I do put them out in the sun when it is warm enough. I hope they get friendlier! I hope to put up a heat lamp outside soon for them. Those ducklings stink!! I have 8 chicks in my room and don't smell them at all!

Cool looking bator Meg...

Now will need pics of the eggs in it!

How many TJ eggs are you putting in?

I still have the TJ pullet I got from you. She is just getting ready to lay.
