Went to check on the livestock before calling it a night and found that my broody hen that hatched 6 chicks about 3 weeks ago had pecked at two of her chicks and they are bleeding. The first chick has both wings that are bloody and missing feathers. It's back is bloody and also it's butt. The second chick has one wing and underneath it are bleeding, but that is it. The other four are ok and this Icelandic mom has always seemed a bit rough with her chicks. I pulled the mom and put her back in the main coop. I brought the hurt chicks inside. I am not sure what happened. Has anyone had this happen before?
Sorry Puffycheeks.I guess if you don't mind owning a vulture with a duck bill they are OK.![]()

They are mixed. Hens are EE, RIR, Blue Marans, SS, Black Orpington, and a CC Marans. Rooster for most of these is a CC Marans. The B orpington probably has an English splash roo over it but I'm not sure. What are they? I just might take you up on that.
