Well, did I ever get a SURPRISE when I went out to rake the leaves!!! I found twelve newly hatched red eared slider turtles!!! I have not had any male turtles in over 7 years in our pond!!! Nature will always find a way!!! Well then now, WHO WANTS SOME ??? Aren't they cute?

Awsome! maybe I will take a couple when you come to pick up Goaty. I had sliders as a kid. You must have a male somewhere. He is not showing himself.

Yea, I know how big they get. I raised a couple from a baby to adulthood in the midwest. I do think it would be a pain to keep them unless I make a pond. You may be able to sell them to Pratts any you don't want to keep. They are captive bred.

Unfortunately, it is illegal to sell the baby turtles until they are 4 inches. But you can give them away. I will only give them to responsible informed people tho. So if anyone knows anyone who may want any PLEASE let me know. I think they will be ready in about a week or so.

Have any of you ever prossesed leghorn cockerels?
I know they are not meat birds, and will not have much on their little bones, but just trying to fish for ideas...
I was thinking they might be good for a soup? Like chicken and dumplings? Or does anybody else have any idea what they could go into? Have to cull this weekend, and it just seems wastefull to just throw them out.
