I lost Pippin..... she went downhill so fast. I have 5 chickens left (outside of the chicks that I got in the last 2 weeks). Today is about as close to hell as I have ever been.... Any chicken accept Pippin. I will always love you Pippin.
 
So sorry to all of you out there with all of the unfortunate problems.

I feel for you all. I have never had a sick flock and just cant imagine what is causing all of the issues. I still have my poor hen with the tumor/growth thing on her face and she is hanging in there but is beginning to have a very hard time eating again. does anyone know of a chicken vet who might take a look at her and maybe tell me if she even has a chance? I am not rich or even comfy but I do like to take care of my pets as best as possible. She is an older RIR hen and she has just been trying so darn hard to make it, she is a real fighter and I hate to see her die from starvation if a vet could maybbe remove the rest of the growth (its a horrible and bloody mess). If anybody can help PLEASE let me know, THANKS!!!!!

I have my first ever turkey egg hatching today. It is taking a long time for it to come out of the shell. I am so excited !!! It will be either 1/2 wild x Bourbon red or 1/2 wild X Royal palm !!!!

Hey All, the WESTERN RANCHMAN store in North East Phoenix (32nd Street and Paradise Ln) is having a "Poultry DAY" on Sunday, April 29th, from 9 am to about 4-5 pm. First up is a class/demo on how to process (yuck) , then that will be followed by a class on Raising AZ backyard chickens!!!! And lots more. Come on over as it is sure to be be very informative as well as a great chance to socialize and pick up on some good deals, coupons, discounts, info. etc. Also there is going to be a "Poultry expert" Available to answer all of our questions!!! Hope to see and meet all of you there!!!
