Arizona Chickens

My new babies are moved into their new coop! I have enclosed an area under a grape trellis. They were so funny, they were jumping for the leaves and having fun climbing on the grape branches. Too cute. They have not explored the whole cage yet, they are staying in one corner, funny gals. I now have room to buy 2 more. I am looking for young ones, about 5 days old or so. Anyone have some and what are the breeds. I just thought I would ask before I hit the feed store this weekend.

Hey Bootsie, I now have 7 chicks that hatched from your eggs. Due date was the 17th. I have 8 eggs to go. Funny how I got such early hatchers! If you didn't see my post about it the eggs started just at the time for lockdown!
Any way can I tell what the breed is by the color? I have 4 that are light with dark marks and 3 dark chicks. I am so happy to get chicks this time!

oh for joy, we will have wellies again! her rotten dh is picking up a bunch o birdies from me this week.
i tried to talk her in to a few ducklings, but she just wouldn't cave. well, when she is here next month, she will LOVE LOVE LOVE my scovies and whatever else i get from Holderread. i am telling you, ducks are WAAAAY easier to care for, just watch out for the poo. oh, and they don't peck, they try to nibble your toes but it tickles cuz there is nothing sharp like THAT DARN BLASTED BASQUE ROO WHO SQUEALED AT ME AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! he's been dancing around me singing to himself a pitbull song.

congrats on the anniversaries. i didnt realize how common it was to get married on the anniversary of your first date, i did that too.

azkat, mine were processed at about 16 weeks and were cooked in a crock pot so everything was wonderful. these guys were at least 20 weeks so i guess thats too old. or is it the breed? what makes meat tough besides age? anyway, glad you're getting a couple meals out of them. my mom is sad, guess i shouldnt have told her! she wanted to keep snow but didnt have a yard to put them in. oh well. i told her there were plenty more where they came from.

i'm finally going to go check out market on the move this saturday to see whats there.

LOL. That's common with people coming to see your newborn show dog puppies too (parvovirus can be picked up and transported by your shoes).
pupeluv, You must show those Frenchies! I showed dogs from 1973-2000. Italian Greyhounds, Whippets. My IGs did well. Have had group placements and group win. This was all in the midwest like Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and Missouri. Did a lot of Obedience work also with those breeds and a few others.

Too funny - maybe he needs to meat (on purpose) a pitbull & sing it then...
