The dog climbed a 6 foot fence...it just might be the dog...BUT it IS the owner's fault for owning such an animal. It amazes me how many Pit Bulls are out there by people who refuse to believe that they are bred to be aggressive. They are called PIT BULLS for a reason! I would NEVER trust my kids around a Pit Bull, no matter how 'nice' the owner says it is. I sure hope Nova was compensated.I'm soooooo sorry. This is a tragedy. The only thing you have to gain now is to learn something from it. And the rest of us from your experience. I hope you make the neighbors pay to restock your birds. What did they say? It ain't the dog. It's the fugging owners. Tomas in Tucson

I have sat quiet for too long. Pitbulls are like any other dog. It is how you treat and raise them. I have pitbulls and have for over 14 years. I have also worked with 2 different rescue groups and fostered pitbulls. my worse case was a starved to near to death that they used a cattle prod on and locked in hot cars for punishment. It was litterally a bag of bones when I got him and he would not come near people at all. he was rehabitlitated and we had him around several kids whom he loved. he is the only thing that got me through a divorce. It is also the media. If you call the news and says a lab bit you they dont care, but say a pitbull and they will be right over with their cameras. For several years the number one dog on the bite list was golden retreivers. The dog climbed a 6 foot fence...it just might be the dog...BUT it IS the owner's fault for owning such an animal. I still wouldn't own one. Sorry.I have sat quiet for too long. Pitbulls are like any other dog. It is how you treat and raise them. I have pitbulls and have for over 14 years. You should research the Michael Vick dogs. alot of them are now therapy dogs. They had a huge right up in sports illustrated a few year back. Those dogs where elecrocuted, hung, and shot if they didnt win. But the #&^$ goes on to be in the NFL and make millions of dollars.
I am sorry but I am sick of this negative conatation with pitbulls. It is like saying all mexicans are in the drug cartel or all african americans are gangsters. I have literally fostered over a hundred pitbulls, but Just last week I got attacked by a chiweenie...and it made me bleed, but that doesnt mean that all chiweenies are sharks.
No hurt feelings. Everyone is entitled to there opinions and that is one of my strong ones after seen all the abuse that evil people put those dogs through. you should check out www.pbrc.net and see some of the stories and pictures of what a pitbull endures at the hands of a dog fighter. pitbulls actually are the least likely to bite because of 100 of years of being breed for fighting. If they showed any abuse for people they would kill them on the spot. They also have some incredible stories of pitbulls saving kids from burning cars because of their loyalty to their owners. My Jersey dog saved my then 1.5 year old from a rattle snake.I still wouldn't own one. Sorry.I do agree with you about Vick. He's a sick, sick, person. People should take a stand and have empty stadiums when he plays. But they won't, they put more importance on sports.![]()
Quote: I'm sorry I cannot agree with this. It is how the dog is raised, not the breed.

My granddaddy always called his car Daisy. He had a stainless steel plaque machined with that name on it and mounted it in the grill of the cars he owned. ('68 Impala & '81 Malibu) My mom has the plaque in her car's grill & I hope to not get it for many decades to come!
