Arizona Chickens

Never met the guy, but I was thinking the very same thing! ;-)
Y'all are cracking me up.... I think I *HAVE* to get chickens now, or I won't have any reason to be lurking around here, giggling...

Yeah, I think you have no excuse to be as weird as us unless you have chickens. You must get them now. My husband wasn't very keen on the idea of chickens but after 7 months he likes them. He eats their eggs even though he said he wouldn't and he lets them out of the run nearly every morning even though he knows this is something I enjoy doing. He also likes to check for eggs.

Sooo.... this "weirdness" some of you seem to have with the videos and the cuddling and the I-don't-need-to-shower/do-dishes-this-month-as-long-as-the-chicken-needs-my-tub/sink thing among others.....

Is this something that just happens once you get the chickens (like a condition they bring with them and transmit to the humans who keep them), or is it more like a latent condition that certain people have and it's just activated by prolonged proximity to poultry? Is there immunity, or is it like "chicken math" which seems to be a pervasive certainty?
hum.......i personally think it depends on the individual. i like chickens, i however, do not like chickens in my house, do not like to cuddle with them(eww), i do not like poo, i do not like them flying up on my head or shoulders like a parrot, i do not carry them around like a puppy and i do not name them. they are very well cared for and cleaned up after all the time, but i do not attach myself to them as much as i once did. i LOVE my ducks. but again, same thing. but ducks don't like to be held anyway so it's perfect. thing two caught me yesterday having a conversation with a muscovy and she looked at me and said, "mommy, why are you talking to that duck? she can't talk."

Here is my Bantam Mottled Cochin/Ameracauna named Quinn. He is now 10 weeks old! He is such the ladies man. Wish I had my video camera out when he decided to "practice" on my LF Cuckoo Marans. Looked like a bucking bronco event!

Caught in the strawberry patch
