Sorry about your ducks

where are you planning on getting your chickens from? I'm in Phoenix, currently shopping around!
Thanks. I'm not sure yet, going to look at different places online tonight (slow night at work LOL) and read on here some recomendations.

I was wondering too if this was anyone here. Would also like to keep updated on this. I haven't been on here in about a month or so. I hope everyone is doing well and had a great Thanksgiving!

We had a great Thanksgiving at my brothers and then on Saturday since we didn't have any leftovers.... (I LOVE TGD leftovers), I made a huge Turkey and dressing and fixin's meal on for the family and a few guests this afternoon.

It was all DELICIOUS going down, but now I have heartburn that would make a normal person think they were having an MI. YUK.

My top hat chicks will be two weeks old on Tuesday and they are CUTE... I can't wait for them to grow up to see what I get as far as the male/female ratio. Of the 30, 9 died, so I have 3 WC blues, 4 WC blacks, 3 Sultans, 1 golden laced, 6 silver laced and 4 buff laced.... then I have the six "pullets" I bought at the Mesa Feed Barn... 2RIR, a Black Star, a PW Leghorn, a Buff orp and a Dellie.

I'm getting up to 60 eggs a week now out of the 15 hens that are laying. Sure wish that I could have kept my Icelandic roo but he was JUST TOO NOISY.

I'm really tempted to keep a WC Blue Polish Roo for kicks and giggles as long as he isn't loud.
My Blue Wheaten Am. roo still hasn't started to crow. He isn't as pretty as I'd hoped, but he does have some nice blue lacing on the front.... but none of the four Wheaten hens I kept are laying so a lot of good that does me!

I also wish I had a BCM roo to put over my BCM and my two olive eggers. Ah to dream.

Well I was unhappy with the VERY limited choices in chick breeds this time of year, so instead I just ordered 6 ducks from Meyer ;) They'll be here next week, can't wait! Going to shop on Craigslist for a few pullets/hens. Maybe in the spring I'll order chicks.

Good idea to order in January when the hatcheries start listing which birds will soon be available. Autumn is always the rest period for flocks due to the shorter days. I used to spend winter days shopping from seed catalogs and now I window shop for birds.

In my experience Polish are loud ! It is sad not to be able to keep roosters. Many of us are in the same situation.

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Turkey Day! I have a question for chicken lovers near AJ. Where can I find pullets? Do any of you have some that will be available after Christmas?
