Arizona Silkies

So today i found one of my silkies secret stashes. I only found it cause she wasn't roaming the yard with everyone else, this is so not like her. She has always laid in the boxes. I guess she is tired of sharing her eggs with others lol. This little chicken has not five, not six, not seven but NINE eggs under her. She really made a hole there for her eggs. LOL Look at that crater.

Surprisingly it actually is alot cooler under there and the ground doesn't get hot either. The sun doesn't hit under there, and when the wind blows it has a nice breeze under there. So im thinking i might let her.

Im putting little dishes of food and water under there during the day and taking them out at night. Dont want to bring attention to her at night with food and water. =D

those are amazing kat. =D I really like the white/blue male. =D
I know Id really love to have this color too. I contacted the owners @ LEGG'S PEAFOWL FARMS and she says this color is a Indian Blue Pied. It takes 3 years to develope this color going back and forth on the breeding so I thing I'll save time and just buy one when im ready lol. I also love the purples.

LOL i know right kat, i do too. And ya it seems like you are on the faster route getting them like that then waiting years. LOL

really bummed I lost the last silver partridge hen this week not sure from what but did find a scab on the back of her head so im thinking head injury. she was lifeless for a week had her inside and looked like she was doing great so put her back with the group and the next day she was worse again. wouldnt eat or drink or stand. All my roos are coming of age and I think they are starting to be agressive with the hens. Im in search of about 4 hens right now in black, blue , Partridge, and looking for a trio of Buff.
