Hey Draye, if I wanted to make NN crosses, do I use a NN female or male with one of my chickens? Another words, which sex carries the NN gene? LOL I confused myself Bahahaha....
Was thinking of going but hubby wants to go to Branson and take the dinner train. I am just happy he is willing to try and get out. His triple bypass and stroke have been hard on him. But he is slowly getting his energy back.

My daughter and I went to the State fair and I hate to be one of "THOSE" people but I seriously should have entered our Ricky Bates line Heritage RIRs. I did see some lovely game birds and an amazing LF Buff orp. Never knew Houdans got soooo big. If I was a guessing woman, I would say there were 40% game chickens, 20% bantams (Silkies, etc.), 10% LF, the rest turkeys and ducks, geese Very suprised there was not more Large Fowl.

the NN gene is mostly dominant so it wont matter witch sex u use in the 1st cross...

Poultry auction at fairgrounds in Charleston, AR on 11/3. Auction starts at 11:00. If your birds need tested have them there before 10:00 and testing will be available. I was told cost would be .50 per bird.

caj have you been to this before? Is it the "Chicken Mafia" doing it? I may try to come. My son has his last soccer game that AM in Clarksville but we should make it back for part at least.

Yes, it is the "Chicken Mafia" sale. I went to the first one in the spring. At that point there were some amazing deals on hatching eggs, guineas and chicks. Our neighbor is actually one of the "Mafia" that hosts it.

I'm going to be selling some birds, including all of my Araucanas. I have decided to focus on some other breeds.

Devon told my husband that someone called him last week to make sure that he could bring 150 bantams. That's a lot of birds.

I would like to have a Araucana rooster. I could get hatching eggs but I really don't have room for another breed. I would like one to use for my project. I really don't care if he has the tufts and isn't rumpless, just need the gene for the blue egg. That is why I just need a rooster and he doesn't even have to be breeding age either.

Where is Ratcliff?
I'm in central Ark between Little Rock and Benton.

I'm about 35 miles east of Fort Smith. It is about 16 miles south of interstate 40 at Ozark. My rooster is rumpless, tailless and cleanfaced BBR. I have a pullet and cockerel from U of A stock and then a younger pullet and cockerel from Ray-n-Debi.
