ARKANSAS Chicken or Eggs SWAP

As a breeder I have to disagree with going to the big hatcheries if you get a chance to go up to Missouri to one of the many amish farms and look at the birds they are poor quality and over crowded which leads to sickness in the flocks which requires lots of antibiotics. buy from small breeders please JMO

Most of the hatcheries in MO use the Amish to raise there breeders , I know several people that buy the old birds after they rotate stock.

... the question is, is there a hatchery or a state breeder that offers these? Has anyone locally done any business with Cackle Hatchery in Missouri? I would rather keep my business in state, but have been unable to locate a source within the state..
Any and all input welcome....
Thank you
I don't know of any hatcheries in Arkansas yet that I'd recomend.

Not saying there aren't any, but I haven't found them yet.
I've dealt with Cackle Hatchery several times and find they have some good looking birds.

They have always been easy to deal with too.
I've also gotten chicks from Estes in Mo. (Maybe a little closer to you) and found them to be a good hatcherty.

as a rule of thumb I use if I cant look at the parent stock I don't buy the chicks , we sale a lot of chicks for a small home based hatchery and we have our birds for people to look at,

all that said you cant go wrong dealing with Paulette she's the best

Awe thanks you guys. I tell ya what. I have decided to hatch my eggs all winter. I know I said I would not but I have 2 request already. So if you guys would like chicks, I would be happy to sell you some. Cheaply if you buy them before 2 weeks of age. Otherwise the price goes because of feed and heat lamp use. Of course at that age I personally cannot tell male or female but you will be welcome to come here and pick out your own chicks. I have about 20 in the bator right now. I will keep putting more in if y'all want to buy chicks.

Sometimes it's more fun buying chicks instead of batoring. But it's really personal choice. I love buying chicks locally. I need to get and and visit more of all!

I sure bet I could Jim. I should have plenty by then and the coops I got from you are perfect for the quail. Got them cleaned up and painted. Thank you so much for delivering them!
Pauletta, with the losses I have had, could you spare some eggs/chicks for us? Would be great to pick them up at the meetup. Thanks.

Ms Pauletta... I would love to get some "older" chicks from you after the first of the year!!! I guess I'll have to go to the seminar in January to meet and greet...Looking forward to learning what I can!!! I feel like my broken brain is a sponge soaking all the research up, only to have to do it over again and again to remember stuff...
