neither did i untill a couple years ago. the original jersey was a small family milk cow but was bred up for milk production. now they are being bred down for smaller farms. Miniature Jerseys are 42 inches or under when measured at the Hook Bone (front Point of the Hip). the jersey has the highest fat content of any cow. they are great for a smaller farm....easier to handle & eat about a 1/3 what a regular size one does. hard to find & pricey.below are a couple of links you can check out. 1st link is jerseys...2nd link is all kinds of miniature cattle....3rd link is best farm buys, there are a couple for sale on there just search for miniature jerseys.hope this helps. jerry...rocky hill farm
