Cute picture Chicky Tocks!

Well, I had a so-so hatch this weekend. I was wondering if some of the eggs didn't hatch because they had gotten dirty from all the rain. I had knocked off all the loose dirt, but some had gotten a little muddy.

I can't even remember how many eggs I set, but I have 13 new babies, and around 8 to 10 still in the bator that didn't hatch. I'm leaving it going just in case, but the others hatched the 29th and 30th.

I got my first Partridge Silkie from my Gray male! She might even be Gray, not sure, because the Dad sure looked like a Partridge when I bought him, but turned just as Gray as could be as he matured. I think he must carry the gold gene too, so it was showing through in his down. Anyway, whether Partridge or Gray, here she is...

Oh, and I like your new run Chicky Tocks! Just checked out the pictures.

I wish mine was done. I have two new-ish breeding pens I finished about a month or so ago, but haven't gotten the attached run done yet. First I had to wait on all the rain to stop, and now it's 90 freakin' degrees!!!

After school lets out Wednesday, the girls and I are going to work on it early in the mornings for a few days and I should be able to finish it.

EEEK!!! Now I need another run! I received 9 black copper maran eggs in the mail today and they'll be going in the incubator late tomorrow evening.

I bought them from steelshot. He has some beautiful BCM's! I was waiting for some lavendar copper marans from him, but these came up first and I could not resist. I paid $35 for 6+ and LOOKIT!!! 9 beautiful eggies! This will be my last hatch for the season. I'm running out of room for chickens. I'm asking DH for a nice tractor for the BCM and the Cuckoo Marans in my brooder. He's going to KILL me!

Who shall I will all my chickens to?

Who shall I will all my chickens to?

Now that's a good question, lol! If I left mine to any of my relatives, they'd curse me everyday after I'm gone!

Lavender Coppers huh, neat-o!

My husband is going to be putting pens up for a year the rate we are going! When I told him I wanted chickens he said "Why, what are we going to do with them?" Now he is the one getting a bunch of chickens LOL. He likes the bantams and I like the big ones!
