Arkansas folks speak up.........

Actually there are quite a few county fairs around, but I haven't seen too much 4h. Drew usually has a pretty active fair, but their building got blown away. Lincoln has one, Bradley and Chicot have one, Not sure about Jefferson, but Pine Bluff has a big district fair this month.

What an AWESOME meet up today! I enjoyed hearing the professional speaker and meeting everyone there! Each time I get by to either the auctions or to places like today's meetup, and I meet other folks who love their poultry as much as I do, I feel so much richer when I leave.
Can't wait til the next one.

I stopped by the Saline County Fair and met Lucinda. She had a great setup and petting area going. I picked up three more BCM chicks and brought them home, stuck them in the brooder with my other 3 chicks and they all immediately ran over and started eating and drinking. Just peeked in again and everyone is acting like they've been together since hatch.
The chicks I picked up today are at least a week older than the three I hatched and I was afraid there would be peckination going on. Nope, they'are all little brothers and sisters now.

Now I'm just waiting on these three little serama eggs to pop open and my entourage will be complete....until next spring muhahaha!

glad you found your chicks - I had heard that you got 3 -

Hey all, I enjoyed the meetup. Next time I'll try not to bring the boys so I can stay and talk more.

I told someone I was proud of myself for not coming home with any chickens... Then I said I got some eggs. They said, "Isn't that really the same thing?" lol Guess so, if they hatch, which I'm sure they will.

Amanda, did anyone ever take the little Orps?

ETA: I saw your daughter's chickens at the fair. That Blue Mottled Roo is beautiful!

Its the last of a line Jerry Carter had from a former exhibitor. He says they need some work, but the genes are there for a good line. They are a little raggedy right now, they have been on the yard and have some wing damage. I will post some pics as soon as I can get some. They are still boxed for the night, since I got home after dark. At least it wasn't raining too hard as we packed it up to leave the fair. When it started raining, they let us check out a little early.
