Arkansas folks speak up.........

Posting pics of my little Frizzless Frizzelle! I hatched her (yes her dangit!) from an egg that Amanda (rbamterry) gave to me. We were hoping for a frizzel, but instead she developed this beautiful pattern and I'm sure a gene to possibly throw a frizzel in the future if I'm right about how that works. She's just beautiful to me and such a sweet little lady.

And here's her little pea comb. Nice and pale like a little girl's pea comb should be.

So who's her daddy Amanda?

That is a pretty cool looking chick frizzle or not. Not being frizzled may be a blessing for her. We have 1 frizzle (polish) and she is on the bottom of the pecking order, our regular feathered birds pick on her because she is different.

It will have to be Red. I do like her coloring and yes there is a chance that she can throw a frizzle chick.

I do agree with Jarhead - frizzles do have a tendency to get picked on.

Oh well! I don't want her picked on. Pending that she truly is a pullet, she's going to grow up and live with the BCM's. With her muffs, beard, peacomb and little green legs, I'm assuming she's got the EE gene. So living with the BCM's, hopefully she'll throw me some olive eggers.

Maybe even a frizzled olive egger.

If those olive egg chicks happen sometime down the line you will make some cash. There are some on eggbid now - pricey for mutts;)

Amanda, I contacted someone not long ago (the email I was told to write to) about getting NPIP certified, and I never got an answer. You're doing the testing too now, right? What do I need to do? What is the cost? How do you get paid?...per chicken?

I can't do the NPIP certification - that has to be done by a livestock inspector.
I am however a testing agent for Pullorum-Typhoid -- I charge .50 per bird. They just call and I go test there birds -- they are the one that pay.

They usually hold a class twice a yr, I think it was $25 for the first year, then you have to by your antigen and equipment.

Ok guys and girls can anyone tell me where I can buy rennet (Junket), citric acid and cheese salt in Arkansas?

I think I can use sea salt instead of cheese salt but the other stuff I can't find at Wal mart or Kroger and i am all out of ideas.

Thanks

Dawn
