Hello fellow Arkies... I have been lurking these forums for awhile now and finally registered and really glad I did as I am a first time chicken owner.. It all started when my kids wanted some and were all excited bout getting some and my Grandfather use to incubate raise and release Bobwhite quail so he had the incubator and as luck would have it I went a lil overboard and purchased 44 eggs to fill it.. They are all purebred chicks (due tomorrow) rangeing from Buff Orpingtons, Barred Rocks, Silver Laced Wyandottes, Blue Aldalusians,Silver Lakenvelders,Golden Penciled Hamburgs, Blue Birchen Marans, Blue Copper Marens, White Empordanesas, and Blue Ameraucanas!!! My kids (except my 5 yo son) have already abandoned me on this project but I am totally moving forward with this! I have researched the coop section and built one from the many awesome ideas that were available. I have 18 RIR that I keep in my parents coop for the fresh eggs/meat, but this chick experience may be a whole different story... I hope it turns out well! Anyway.. I am really enjoying the posts and most of all the endless information!
