you gonna bring some chicks to sell to the meetup group the 13th of march??? i would buy a few if you did... i would not mind having 25 but idk if i can afford that many lol...

I think we better try to have all sales arranged ahead of time unless you are npip certified.. Individual to individual sales do not have to be tested, but "flea market" type sales, the birds are supposed to be tested. I'm not sure how this would be considered. So Yes, I will have some chicks of several ages, and if we agree on a sale ahead of time I can bring them. If anyone hears any different, please let me know.

Can someone tell me about the meet on the 13th, where its at and so forth.

I'll have some cuckoo maran chicks, some ee chicks and possibly some serama chicks if the hatch goes well..but the eggs were shipped, so we'll see.

Arkansas poultry meetup group March 13th Brown's country store and restaurant, Benton, Arkansas. 1:00 pm. Dr Doss will be speaking on NPIP. You don't have to eat to attend.

Cuckoo Marans can be used to make sex-links right? I already have a RIR rooster......

How old would they be at the time of the meetup? I don't want itty bitty babies, but my grow-out pen/chicken tractor is empty again

You all know what my hubby would say, but I could argue that my original hens are going to hit their 18 month molt right around the time any spring chicks would come into laying......I bet I could get a few more pullets without having to beg tooooo much! LOL

Hehe! Cuckoo marans are sex link chickens. I don't know enough about mixing them with other breeds to create sex links, but I for sure know a boy cuckoo when it hatches dang it!

I have a male cuckoo that is a little over a month old now, and the chicks that I have are a little over a week (8 days actually today). By the 13th, they should be getting some feathers and will be about a month old...but I'd still keep a light on with this freaky cold Arkansas weather.

Well that may be the case of sexing purebreds, but I don't think I can get another roo under DH's radar

So RIR x barred hen is what I need. Other than that the only thing I can come up with are mutts (RIRxLehgorn, or BSLxwhatever, those type crosses)
If they are 8 days already then they'll be round bout a month or so by the 13th. I move chicks to the tractor between 2 and 3 weeks - it's equipped with a lamp and all that goodness.
You might have to sign me up for a couple....or dozen! Just kidding!! Probably 3-4 would be best so they have some same-aged company together.

Of course I could come get them any time since I drive by almost every day, but I do need a couple of weeks of begging, plus I gotta save up my pennies! lol
