From Monticello!

I am just outside of the Russellville area. I raise Cochins for pets and laying. I also sell pairs and try new colors. I just love these chickens. They are so easy and friendly. All mine are spoiled and
I must say they lay great!!! Here is a picture of my latest Lavender Cochin Chick that hatched in February/2012. I have Red buffs and Black and Grey Barred. I am trying to start some others this spring.

Hi Bizzy I live in Danville and also raise Cochins Bantams. You didn't say if yours are LF or Bantams? I also love to work on new colors and have several projects going on right now. I have Fibromyalgia and have had cochins for 14 years now. They mean the world to me and are the best therapy ever! I would love to see pictures of your Buffs. I have a Buff Barred cockerel that needs a lady friend lol! I have a white hen until then I plan on putting with him until I find something else. I have lots of other color varieties in them if you are looking for some give me a holler!

I'll put out my annual plea for hatching eggs from small turkey breeds within easy driving distance of the Fayetteville area. I'd prefer Midget Whites, Beltsville Whites, or Royal Palms, but will consider a barnyard mix or the larger heritage breeds. I don't want or need the broadbreasted turkeys. The smaller the better.
I got some from LuckyPickens in Danville last year and it worked out OK, but that's a long drive for me. She's made me a pretty good offer this year and I may take her up on it, but I'm looking for something closer if I can find it. I really don't like shipped eggs.
I'm also looking for Black or B/B/S Ameraucana hatching eggs within driving distance. They don't need to be show quality, but I'd like them pure for the blue egg gene and somewhat representative. I'll mix them with a Speckled Sussex rooster and eventually hope to have black speckled green egg layers in maybe four or five generations.

I am getting Narragansett eggs now and have several growing off in the incubator now. I have good hatching from my Midget Whites and my Narragansett tom. The poults are so cute and growing off really nice. I have sold several already but keeping a few to see how they finish out to butcher. If you don't find any Midget Whites close I know of a guy in OK that has some and he might be closer to you. I am getting some eggs from him later have 7 right now under one of my Midget White hens from a breeder in GA. They all got here in great shape and are due to come off this weekend. I sure hope I get at least one tom to breed with this fall. Hope you find some too.

Well, Roslyn, It is me Vicki King. We are friends on Facebook. I only have red Buff babies right now. I only have 1 red buff hen (Lizzie) and she is at Mt. George right now. We are trying to get
some more eggs. I will bring her and my Red Buff rooster home in a couple weeks. You and I can do some trading later if you want to. These Lavenders are so beautiful. I got a black mottled hen Sunday. She is beautiful. Onward!!!! I love these Chickens!!! You can look at all my pictures on my facebook page. I only have a couple on here so far. Happy Hatchings!!!

I am just getting started and not comfortable trying to raise baby chicks. I have a bantam Old English rooster in one run with 2 OE hens and 5 standard size and Silkies are in the other with a rooster Does anyone have some 4 month or older standard pullets for sale? I am afraid of big roosters.
