Arkansas folks speak up.........

Okay, thought it was my computer, but must be the site. I am locking up on occasion and cant click type or anything.

To answer the heat question: Luckly so far, no losses. Of course my birds live under a huge oak tree so they have great shade all day. I read on another thread that the greatest chance of loss is at the beginning of a heat wave when the birds have't adjusted. Hopefully that part is over. I feel for them, but we're trying to give them things to make them more comfy.

All the chickens are holding up with the heat. Haven't lost one yet

but unfortunately the rabbits are a different story.

I have not lost any birds yet. However, I worry about my older hens that do not seem to be taking this heat so well. What I've done for the birds: I freeze water in bottles and put that in the chickens water and in their favorite lounging spots. I put ice cubes and frozen water bottles on the ground for the chicks. I've been wetting down the chicken garden for my layers to lounge around in. I've put up more water pans that they can get in. I've added a fan to the main coop that I keep turned on at night.

Hey AR BYC'ers!!

I am in DESPERATE need!! PLEASE tell me you can help,,,
About 2 weeks ago I found out a dear friend died, she was in California, USA, but she was born in England, although her father was in the US Airforce at the time, she was born on July 26th 1955
I am trying to help her boyfriend and her roommate/caretaker to find a family member, no matter how distant.
If we can't find some one, the county will have her cremated and buried in a mass grave and they will NOT tell us and her closest friends where she is buried.
PLEASE!! I don't know whom to contact over in Arkansas, All I have is her mother's and father's name.
Please feel free to email me!!

Her name was Dorian Ford
Her mother was a psychiatrist or pyschologist.
Her mother's name was Virginia Harrum (she married George Ford, from Arkansas)
Her father's name was George Ford,
They moved to California when Dorian was teenager. Her mother died when Dorian was 19 of leukemia, her father died about 3 yrs later, having remarried.

Have you tried a geneology or "Family Tree' website? Besides hiring "legal" representation to find out who the closest relative is, i do not know what else to do.
