Well ... bummer of bummers ... I don't think the 6 chicks I got at TSC were New Hampshire's. Well .. 1 is I'm pretty sure! He's my avatar pic and he's beautiful. I'll have to get pictures of the other 5 but I am pretty certain they aren't. I'd appreciate it if my home folk could help me out here with identification. These were supposed to be my hubby's chickens and he'll be extremely disappointed to know that they aren't what he wanted. (He's on the road right now workin and I'm at home)

Anyone near Central Arkansas have REAL New Hampshire's? Just in case?

I'm already bummed that all 6 of the straight run BO's that I got are pullets! I didn't think I stood a chance of that happening lol!

This female raccoon will not kill anymore of our chickens. Nor will it steal anymore eggs! Its larger male friend will need medical treatment, but may survive its visit to our farm today. Since raccoons love watermelons so much, we left some fresh watermelon rinds out for them. We left some scattered around two steel spring traps and some inside two live traps. Catherine did not want to waste the coon, so we gave it to our LGD, Sadie. This should save us a few days of dog food.

We are in an area with lots of timber and farming. An old catfish pond is next door. Everything a coon would want.
