Hello in Benton, Sardis here!

While at the farm feeding today, a pack of dogs "attacked" the farm. They were approaching the back fence when Sadie (2 year old female) started barking at them. Ollie just ignored what Sadie was doing. He is 10 months old. A few minutes later we seen Ollie HOP over the back fence and started growling and running away. Thankfully the dogs ran off before Ollie caught them. Not sure what he would have done to them. Here are Sadie and Ollie. Ollie is the larger dog.

I do not think those dogs will ever return!

Amazing dogs .. a pack of stray dogs are the reason I am a proud owner of 2 Anatolian/Great Pyrenees mix.

I AM ON CLOUD 9!!!!!   I got a message from someone who has a starter flock of Black Australorps!!!!!:celebrate  Not only is he willing to keep them until I get my coop built, but he offered to deliver them and help me get them settled!!!!

I AM SOOOOOOO STOKED!!!!!! :weee

I am still considering getting a pair of Cochins since they are (theoretically) broodier than the Australorps.  If I do, I'll have 3 Australorp hens, an Australorp roo and 2 Cochin hens.

Ask and ye shall receive!  Thank you JESUS!!! :love

I'm looking forward to moving day like a kid looks forward to Christmas!!   WHOOO--HOOOO!!!!!   :woot
Congrats I really like my Black Australorps and they are good layers for me.
Actually all my girls have continue to lay through the winter. Good luck and be sure to show off your coop.

Hello from Little Flock (Rogers)! Thanks to Ridgerunner for directing me here. I'm new to BYC and to chickens, we're waiting on our first ever chicks to arrive in May, we have 11 chicks on order. Trying to learn as much as possible before they get here! Feel like a kid waiting for Christmas!

Ours are unrelated, but both are Anatolian/Great Pyrenees cross.

I have 4 Australorp hens. They are the bomb. Best laying birds of all the ones I have. They have laid all winter so far. I have a little banty that was determined to sit an egg around Christmas. I think she would have tried to hatch a golf ball. She was very determined and stubborn, so I added 4 more eggs under her. She hatched them all. At 3 weeks, they are almost as big as she is. They are 1/2 Australorp and BCM or Ameracauna.
I have been looking and looking for some BCM hens and an Ameracauna hen or 2. No luck from my area so far. Shipping for hatching eggs is a little out of my reach right now.
You are very fortunate to have someone who is willing to help you like that. Congratulations on your new place and your newest addiction. They are addicting! Lol!
