I just hatched some eggs using this same incubator. I joined a hatchalong on here and it really helped a lot! If it weren't for the knowlegable people on BYC I don't think I would have had a very good hatch rate. That is incubator is tricky and you have to babysit it a lot. I ran a dry hatch until lockdown and then only raised humidity to 60%. Once eggs started hatching the humidity would got up to 75%. I used the water wells at the bottom (had the same leakage problem) and got two sponges wet, and put them in the microwave for 30 seconds before putting them in the incubator. That instantly sent the humidity skyrocketing. I left both airvents open until the humidity stabilized at 60 then I put one back in. I tried to keep temperatures steady at 102 at the top of the eggs. This was kind of difficult as it kept fluctuating. My temperature was on the low side because most of my eggs hatched a day late. Wish I knew how to post a link for a thread on here. You should read through the link titled Setting Eggs Whose With Me! Jan. 5/6. Great thread! We managed an 82% hatch rate with the LG first time out. But I had lots of help and I was able to stay at home and babysit it. ChookChicks Cheat Sheet it also a good article to look at and can be found under the learning center tab. Happy Hatching!

Okay. Thank you. And I have that same article on my Bookmark bar.

Sorry I have not been on here for a while. Left for a cruise to Mexico and took another week off to recover from my vacation. It's the plane rides from Miami that are so exhausting. I am so tickled they are hatching for you. Sending you a PM. They are fat, healthy chicks!

I am no longer speaking to 202roosterlane!

She produces the rudest chickens! Its 12:48 AM and one of her Buff Orpingtons is disturbing me! So what it just fought its way out of an egg shell! Big deal. Its nothing to scream about.

We also have eggs popping from the meetup! Salmon Faverolles, Coronation Sussex, and more!

I purchased 21 chicks and 16 rabbits at the Beebe flea market (around the auction house on Saturday mornings) two weeks ago. :)

eta ... and a rooster! :p
