Arkansas folks speak up.........

I'll take the snow no problems. It's the ice storm forecast for tonight and tomorrow morning that's the worry.

But I've moved the week old chicks to my garage, filled my gas cans, got the batteries for the electric lantern, and cranked the generator so maybe it won't be too hard ot crank at 1:30 tonight when the power goes out. I guess I'm ready.

Yup, I am not looking forward to the ice either. I put the tarps over all the coops and runs. They stay on there permantly but rolled up and tied till I need them. I cut them too size and added tie straps to keep the wind from blowing them durig a storm. It just helps keep the cold wind and rain from them as well as keeps some of the water out of the run. My chickens hate freezing winds. They are so spoiled.

I sure hope everyone is stays safe through the night and yur electricity stays on!

Nothing here! I am sooooooooo hoping we get NOTHING!! I'm so not in the mood for nasty weather. I did batton down the hatches for some nasties, but so far so good-nothing. I just fixed the run and tried to fix the play pen for them-again. But didn't get to the playpen but the coop is good to go!

I just hate having to slip and slide, trudge to the coop when it's nasty outside. It's hard enough to keep upright in the backyard because of rocks, lumps and roots, this weather doesn't make it any easier!

My girls are doing really well with this weather although they don't like to be in the coop all day but I just don't like when they are in the nasty weather. I know I'm a huge worry wart with them, the cold and nasty doesn't bother them at all, but it does bother me.

Hope everyone gets through without to many troubles.

Praying everyone's incubators stay on through the weather! Also glad I don't get my chicks for a couple more months with this gross weather! In Rogers it snowed a bunch, looked like it would get bad and then melted off. We'll see what ice etc we have in store for us tonight!

Well, looks like this stormy weather has caused my broody hen to go un-broody. She had 8 eggs, all with chicks in them ready to hatch tomorrow...found them all stone cold today when I got home from school

I put them under a brooder lamp in the house but I doubt they'll hatch now. So sad. It was going to be my first hatch ever.

Thunder and lightning this morning raining and temps just trying to stay above 30 , hope everyone makes it through without power loss I have 3 brooders full of chicks and the incubator loaded , I am well prepared though got out the genny and bought gas yesterday got cords ready to run every things perfect then I got to work and I see the dang gas can still in the back of the truck ...you dont want to know what I said when i seen it...LOL Life is a wild ride specially when you make it hard as i do.
Praying for you all.
John
