Arkansas folks speak up.........

I will be setting eggs on the 6th, this coming Friday. Will have Easter Eggers, Naked Necks and 1/2 Black Jersey Giant over 1/2 Easter Egger hens they all lay green eggs.

I have only seen one I hatched out and let my cousin have it. She ( it was a pullet) was solid black, singled combed. Cousin said no green egg though. She is a fairly good sized hen now. I didn't weigh her but I would guess about 6 1/2 to 7 pounds.

I'm keeping them together for a while to try to get some to keep and watch them grow. When I do I'll try to post pictures as they grow.

I would be curious. I love my big girls. I think I prefer the heavy breeds and banties. The skinny chickens (game type) just don't look like chickens to me.

This was my project today. Putting cedar planks on the llama shed.

Cool in the llama shed. I like big girls also. I had these giants back through April last year, they were just too big of eaters and couldn't afford to keep feeding them. I'm hoping to get a little bit bigger hens that aren't as big of eaters as the bug Jersey Giant girls. I'm thinking about borrowing that girl from my cousin a put back under my Ameraucana fellow or maybe a Naked Neck guy. Maybe both.

Just put 40 eggs in the incubator:
11 Easter Eggers
12 Black Jersey Giant x Green Egger Hens
17 Naked Necks.

Hopefully I'll get a better hatch than the previous one.
Moved the incubator, in the same room but different corner. Humidity is looking better.
