Arkansas folks speak up.........

Hi Julie,

I have not heard of the show. I might have to run down and visit my niece that weekend. My DD showed some chickens in the county fair. I'm not sure if the judges knew anything. My DD won Grand Championship in the trio section. It was a trio of showgirls. I really think that they were so "different" that was the reason she won. Most of the chickens in the fair are the 4-H chickens so they are either leghorns or cinnamon queens.

Please let me know if you hear more about it.

Hi Jackie,

I'm also Miss. Baptist. I used to know a John Carter in college and I think he is a pastor. I wonder if it's the same one you mentioned.
I found a poultry show in El Dorado on November 1st. I haven't been able to find any auctions or sales around this area in Arkansas. (Monticello-South East)

Edited to say: Didn't see your post before I posted this. Which church do you go to?

Sorry, I've never been to the sale in Benton. I probably should stay away. I'm really limited on space for chickens.

I have 5 little Cochin Bantam chicks that are only a few days old. I'm pretty sure they are Mottled. I got them as eggs from a lady who said one of her roosters was mottled and all the chicks are black and white. I'm sure there will be more than one rooster in the bunch! Let me know if you're interested in one or more. I may sell them all... not sure.

I'm in Monticello.

Oh, do you have any silkie chicks to sell right now?

Thanks!! Juliechick I would be interested in all if you sale. I don't have many silkie I will have to go and look will let you know thursday. De

Rbamterry - I have been to the auction. They have LOTS of poultry. They test each bird before they can be sold. The only thing is they don't have what the chickens are so you have to get there early to see them and try figure out what they are. Most of the chickens they have are bantams. There are lots of ducks, geese and turkeys. The last time I went the poultry section starts first at 12:30 pm and it wasn't over until after 3pm.

Julie - John Carter was orginally from Hazen. I go to West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church. I dated a guy who went to UAM Jay Jacobs and I met some of the people in the MBSF.
Julie are you looking for a particular color silkie?

Mthomechick - you will have to make a trip down this way and we can all meet and go to the auction.

I think we should have a get together.
