any peacock eggs you get now most likely are infertile but not always. once the male drops his train (which most have by now) that's about it. we quit picking up eggs a week ago. you can find peachicks for sale in your area.

You should really get heritage breeds if you want to free range (I range Rhode Island Reds and Barred Rocks). They're much better at running away from predators and have a better sense of danger. Production Reds may no be the best choice for a free range flock. You should also get a large rooster (Modern or Old English Game Roos have sharp spurs and they're good fighters) as they will help look out for predators and protect the flock.

Chicks and cows will be fine together.
Exactly what I needed to know. Thanks SO much! You're advice will be taken.

Just a note to all my BYC friends, I have 3 bators for sale, five 2 weeks old heritage RIR chicks (Fogle line), five 1 and 1/2 old heritage RIR chicks (Fogle line), and 8 Heritage Black Jersey Giants juvies for sale. (From Maria's Black Jersey Giants in Indiana) http://mariasjerseygiants.com/ As you can see I paid $14.00 each for 1 day old chicks. They are now 3 months and 11 days old.

I am also selling the 2 chicken coops I had custom made from Jim Hall. They are seen here. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/624001/backyard-coop-and-plans/0_20 Mine are the gray ones. The only difference is when delived the vnts were installed, the ladder was installed and the rest of the hardware was installed. They are much bigger than they look in the pics. If you buy both you can also get the 50 gallon drum and watering system as well.

This is a cash and you pick up deal. You will need a 8 foot trailer. Please bring all your own chicken carriers. Please PM me with questions. The prices are as follows:

FIRST COME FIRST SERVE - YOU PICK WHICH ONES YOU WANT. Must take 1 male per 4 females.
3 months and 11 day old BJG: $15.00 each
6 week old RIR chicks: $7.00 each
2 week old RIR chicks: $5.00 each
Egg turners: $5.00 each
Bators : $15.00 each
Chicken coops with attached run. $200 each. I paid 350.00 each. If you buy both it's $350.00 and you get free 50 gallon watering system and 8 day feeding system. This is a pic of what my feeding look like on my other coops.

Does anyone in Northwest Arkansas have a nice Blue Laced Red Wyandotte hen for sale? Anywhere in age from point of lay to a year old. May look at older hens if they are still productive. I need a BLRW with good blue and good lacing. PM me if you have anything. Thanks!!
