Arkansas folks speak up.........

I am in Batesville/Bethesda areas. I raise several pure breeds of fowl...polish (mixed colors) marans (mixed colors) black silkies. Then I also have ee's, red productions and I have 1 silver laced wy hen in with my black silkies...they are just beautiful! I ship or local pickup. Shipping is $20.00, for my mixed eggs are $5.00 a dozen, $10.00 a dozen for my pures. I usually get around 3+ dozen eggs every 5 days.

Wow, I haven't checked in here in such a long time! Hope everyone has been doing well despite the freezing temps. We've had minimal losses--during the December snow/ice when we lost power for several days. But the fever has set in again (darn those mail order catalogs!) and we're planning our next additions to the flock.

Put 48 nice brown eggs in incubator last Wed 1-22-14, this morning the light was out, temp down to 80, hope they make it.
It is hard for me to get a 25 watt bulb to last through 2 hatches, only 6 weeks. Are any of you other folks having problems with bulbs having short lives? Where can I find bulbs that are durable? I might also post this on the incubator forum.
