Arkansas folks speak up.........

I think you have me confused with someone else, I moved here in 2007 so I've been here a while. But I did spend over 30 years in Mid-City, Harahan, and mostly River Ridge. One son and his family are in Belle Chasse. Right now I'm thinking about Jazz Fest. They had a great line-up this year as usual and I always enjoyed the food, probably too much.

Well Its kind of funny I started with (1)-Beardless Silky Rooster, (4) Silky Hens, (1)-Retired Fighting Game Hen I got given to me. (Guy said they did fights in Mississippi and this one was his best till he got injured. I asked him if I could have him for a price guy just gave him to me), (1)-Green Head mallard male and (1)-Black Hen Duck. I am new to the whole chicken deal always wanted them grew up around them just never had the space till now. I have a Tan Game Hen who just hatched 6 of the cutes lil ones I have ever seen & I have to Rhode Island Red Hens. I am learning gradually on this whole process but its so exciting to watch them and heard them cackle and go on! Heck you aren't far at all from me! I hadn't heard of Mabelvale till you said it. I'll have to look it up! I have never heard of Turken's they look cute as can be!

I’ve ordered chicks from Cackle, Meyer, and Ideal, picked up a few from Orscheln’s in Tontitown (Tractor Supply never seems to have what I want when I want them), got hatching eggs from people in this area, but mostly hatch my own eggs.

I got the buff and dark red chicks from Orscheln’s about 8 weeks ago, they were from a Cackle Pan Fry special, and added them to the chicks I hatched from my eggs.

Draye and Puddin, I expect the ones I just hatched to have some more variety than these since they had a wider variety of mothers, but the ones that are not dark red or buff were from my eggs. There are some shade variations and some differences in markings.
