sometimes they just don't know - I have helped a small county fair with their rabbits - they did it the same way - by looks - so I had someone that came in to judge - showed the kids how, etc. The person wasn't a licensed judge but knew what they were talking about.

I wish I could have so many different breeds. I always stick to my same ones. I guess I'm not ready to branch out yet. Whats wrong with me. I should want everything in sight.

I am thinking about trying out my new incubator. It looks like it would be easier to turn the eggs if the thing is full. (50 eggs) Oh well guess we will have to build more pens

Just curious. . . .how many chickens does everyone have?

I have 44. 47 if you count the tiny bantys (banties?)

Hey farmgirl, there's nothing wrong with being content.

Well, I finally got in touch with the county extension agent in Bradley County. He was kind pf wishy washy till he found out I wasn't interested in the premium money. Said he would love to have me bring some over for exibition only. I told him as much as I've got in these chickens, that wouldn't matter. He was concerned about keeping the premiums in Bradley County because it was too late to arrange something with Desha Co. He said Drew county has some kind of agreement with Lincoln County for their livestock to be shown up there. I just want to see how it goes with transportation, etc. since I haven't ever shown chickens before. Might be fun.

ps dawn Its somewhere around 70 chickens, 15 guineas and 23 turkeys. I hope to make a big dent in that by this fall.

In birds - I think we have 6 turkeys, 10 guineas, 44 ducks, about 80 chickens, 4 pheasants, 5 pigeons --

LOL that is just a guess on the birds.

Then we have sugar gliders, tortoise, horses, cows, buffalo, cats, and pigs
