Arkansas folks speak up.........

I had two Canadian Geese on the creek today. They were within 50 yards of so, and watching me walk around in the yard feeding.

I love watching the geese. We have 3 ponds around our house and there is a flock that is staying here this winter. I hear them flying over every day once or twice, going between ponds.

Hey Gena hope you enjoy your new creles . They may go off laying for a while from changing enviroments and feed I was feeding 28% flight conditioner . BTW I got 2 more 2yr. old QH geldings so I am going to be riding every day for a while , so if you were serious about a new mule I should have one ready by spring .

We really liked the blond mule. Hubby wants one thats 15 hands. She/he, can't remember, is built alot like our other mule.

We have a medium sized, leaky pond in our backyard and every now and again a pair of geese will fly in and spend a day. My DH sees this and runs out with corn and all but starts building them a house because he wants them to stay. LOL!! Because of all the clearcutting, we have a couple of deer that have been hanging around in our woods and the pond. DH has bought deer corn and a salt lick and looks for droppings every morning. Hee! There goes the garden next year...

I ve had my girls confined for the last week and have gotten 9-10 eggs a day. Since I have half as many hens now I guess the stinkers were laying eggs where I could not find them.

Whatever will you do with all those eggs Dawn? Spongecake?

I've noticed an increase in egg production since the weather's warmed myself. It's nice when they help to pay for the feed.

Blondie wont be 2 until this summer , she is about 14.2 now I don't start my mules till their three . Her mother is the buckskin mare that I swapped for the 2 new gelds so I can't get another . Don't know if I could part with her or not . The other 2 mules are brothers , dark red dun with stripes down their backs and zebra stripes on their legs . One of them is coming three and the other coming four . I've already started the 4 yr. old under saddle and he's going to be the right kind , both of these mules are already over 15 hands . When I sell a few more of these horses I am considering buying my mammoth jack back , he is 15 hnds. and a roan . There is still quite a bit of interest in good gentle mules that are broke and over 14 hands so I may raise some more colts.

I can make about 10 different kinds of pound cake. I got tired of them last fall but everyone else loves them. My cream cheese and almond is a huge hit.

I was supposed to pick up some Silkie eggs on Saturday but it fell thru so now I have a bator that is all warmed up and empty. I put my Ameraucana roo back in with the girls today. Next week I will start collecting eggs for an EE hatch.
