We were still up to nine when I checked at lunch today hunt! These girls tend to lay a little later in the day lately. I'm hoping for at least 2 this evening but I've only been finding one a day...on a good day. Freeloaders!!!!

For the last 2 weeks I have been getting 4/day from my barnyarder variety chickens. And then I decided to start collecting so I can put in an extra dozen with yours, and then i am finding only 1-2 per day now. I think they know what I am doing... creating competition for them in the coming months... and adding more mouths to feed also.

Nothing but a pale pullet egg!!! Someone from my maran pen laid a buff orp colored pale pullet egg!!!

Here's the excerpt on quail from the AGFC regulations.

15.35 SPECIAL COMMERCIAL QUAIL PERMIT.
03-08 (A) It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the business of selling or offering for sale the dressed carcasses of pen-raised quail without first obtaining of Special Commercial Quail Permit, stamp and Wildlife Breeder/Dealer Permit from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. (Ref: Section 01.00-C “Pen-Raised Quail”)
(B) Holders of a Special Commercial Quail Permit shall comply with the following requirements:
(1) Quail shall be harvested by means other than shooting.
(2) Packages containing dressed quail carcasses offered for sale shall bear the permit number and said number shall be applied with the special stamp purchased with permit.
(C) For non-compliance with the terms of this permit this Agency may suspend or revoke any existing permit held by the violator and may refuse to issue any future permit. Such suspension, revocation or refusal to issue a future permit shall be in addition to any criminal charges that may be filed.
PENALTY: $500.00 to $5,000.00 per violation.

Considering getting some lawn mowers (sheep). Anyone have a few reasonably priced lambs available in SE Arkansas? Need something that will help clean some fence rows so my Buckeyes can see the bugs under the brush!
