jenjscott.....are you getting any weather yet? we are up here just off the Arkansas river in Logan county....just West of Dardanelle...and we have seen nothing yet. We could get missed completely and you 'southerners' could get it all!
We are about 30 + miles west of Jen and just seeing snow flurries. Kids went out and watered evrything. We fed real good last night. The Buff Ducks and Brown Chinese Geese are being lazy. Just laying around close to each other. They have a shelter, but seem to like the outdoors. The Chocolate Muscovy Ducks are a little active. The Buckeyes and Chanteclers seem very active. The two goats are huddled together. Sheba is refusing to share HER barn, so I am going to go out and lock her in her stall. That should allow the goats to have their stall back. Buddy is telling someone to stay away.
Jacob is sooooooo excited! SNOW!
Nicole is ill this morning so I am staying home with her. Catherine and the others are headed to Sunday School.
I'm far west. Lots of sleet and a snow flake once in a awhile. About 26 degrees.
After living in Kansas City for 10 years, i'm ready for this. My son, who remembers snow on the ground for weeks at a time, is ready also. He's very excited about the coming storm.
Well, chickens all fed and watered, no sign of the white stuff here yet. Temp has been steady at 27, I'll have to carry some more warm water later this afternoon. They have moved the snow back previously was supposed to go from snow/sleet to just snow by 3pm, now looks like 9 pm. Hoping not to loose much in the incubators when the lights go out. Well, I'm off to feed sheep and cats at the Annex and chickens for a friend who is vacationing (I wish they'd get home!) Then I'm going to see if I can get some containers rounded up to put some water in in the incubator for a heat sink. Later!
