Arkansas folks speak up.........

Hi all! I am considering buying meat birds. But I am (don't kill me for this) too chicken to slaughter them.

Does anyone know of a person that would process them for me locally?

We heard there was a USDA facility in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. None in Arkansas.

But it really is easy. Once you get one done, the rest is easy! Just start naming the meat birds names like...Colonel, Nugget, Dumplin.....It make it a lot easier until you get used to it. Plus you will know what you are eating!

I seen a fellow the other day that "escaped" on his way to the Tyson Pine Bluff facility. He was doing great until....... well, lets just say that it is not wise for a fat chick to jump from a moving truck that may or may not be going over 60 MPH, unless you have sufficient wings to fly! Was not a pretty site. But at least he died FREE! Every time I see a Tyson truck I think of that movie "Chicken Run".

If you want to make the drive Pelfreeze in Rogers does a good job with the processing of chickens. Last year I paid $3.

We will be down on Hwy 425 in Monticello all day. Look for us and stop and visit! These are an improved version watermelon than we last year. 13% plus soluable sugar! Sweetest watermelon we have ever had!

Be happy to talk chickens with you!
