Arkansas folks speak up.........

I would go to your county extention office, co-op, or even the local police station. I live in Lonoke. I am a half mile outside the city limits on one side and a stones throw on the otherside and I can have alllllll the chickens and roosters I want and my neighbor across the field (who is in the city limits) can't say a word. He is not real happy I have 8 roosters. But hey I'm country AMEN. PS my roosters are all in seperate runs with thier mates. (For those of you who thought I was crazy....it's true, but I love em!!)

I work in NLR and my husband works in Jacksonville so we are looking for a house with 5-10 acres no more than 45 minutes from NLR. We are on a budget too so that is not helping. I'm in the process of getting pre-approved for a home loan. Once that is settled then we will see about other houses. I got kind of bummed out about the house in Ward though.

Man I thought it was perfect. Are chickens, gardens and goats too much to ask for???

Chickens and a garden, no, not too much to ask for. Perfectly logical to me. Goats? My wife started talking about getting a milk goat. I told her that she needed to spend about a month every day (since animals require daily care) helping a friend with her goats so she could learn how to take care of them and milk them. Then we would talk seriously about goats. She dropped the topic of goats.

Hey, Ridgerunner I'm at Jasper where are you? I'd love to have a swap meet.

urban dreamer, keep looking, your perfect place is out there it's just takes some legwork.

I'm outside of Prairie Grove. There are several others up in this area.

I don't do swaps due to biosecurity. I wouldn't have much to swap most people would want anyway. I just have a small mutt flock for meat, eggs, and the fun of seeing what the next hatch produces.

I currently live in the country north of Lonoke but I grew up in Ward and have family and friends in Ward city limits with chickens. There is livestock and chickens all over Ward. I gave some friends who live in city limits 8 Golden Comet hens several months and they have had no problems. I probably would stay away from roosters just to keep peace neighbors. If there is an ordinance it is not enforced.

Hi ! I seriously have an Amerucana/EE for you!! Free and perfectly healthy but needs a home.
