Sure wish you were closer.

Sure wish we could get something going in our neck of the woods. Sure wish I'd quit talking about wanting somebody else to get something happening. Sure wish I'd get off my backside and do something about getting something chicken going on around here. Hmmmmm, sounds like a plan. Anyone out there in the Boone, Newton, Marion, Searcy counties, etc. interested in getting together to talk poultry up here?

Good Morning Arkansas Chicken Friends! If there is another Arkansas thread I didn't see, let me know so that I can post there as well.

I'm writing to invite you to the North East Oklahoma Chicken Stock, which will be held in Muskogee, Oklahoma, on June 16, 2012. It's five months away, but I need to plant the seed of the idea now. In a few months I'll be back for another Ninja post to remind everyone about the event. We thought you might want to come meet chicken enthusiasts, buy or sell some birds, hatching eggs, quilts, Mountain Dew jelly, or homemade soap. Visit the planning thread for complete information. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=591368

Here's
a map of the building we will use for the event. It's at the Muskogee Fairgrounds. If you know you will attend, please send me an e-mail or PM so that I can reserve your space. Setting up is free. We hope to recover the building rental and other event expenses through the raffle and small concession stand.

Howdie! I think you posted on the Okie thread yesterday. Come to the N.E.O.C.S. in June and we'll share notes about our events. Monett is three hours from were we live in Oklahoma, but we might convince ourselves to make the drive.

Did you look at the information on the ABA youth website page? They have a list of the knowledge each age group should know. You will find that some judges don't expect much at all out of a Pee Wee, but they certainly did at the National! Since he's eight, I would start preparing him for the next level anyway. As far as books go, I haven't found one. We have just used what we found on the internet.

Good luck!
Julie

Thats what I did. I found a bunch of sample questions and printed them off. Can you tell me what level an 8 almost 9 year old would be? Thanks Gena.

Up to 8 is Pee Wee and 9-10 is Junior, I believe. My son is about to turn 9 also, so he'll be moving up to Junior before the next show. (For us, that's March.) Just curious, when is your son's birthday?

Anyone here in AR have any show quality Silver laced wyandottes? I hatched 7 eggs from my own hens, but 4 were Roos. I currently don't have a mature roo and need some more hens. I also have 2 SLW young Roos I would give away if anyone wants them.
