Arkansas folks speak up.........

Busy Draye

I just stopped to check in my emails. I was waiting for something from the roofers so I can get a drop in my homeowners insurance. I've got a batch of chicken broth on, am collecting eggs for the incubator (though that really does not take long. The chickens do most of that work), I started integrating some turkeys and chicks with the flock a couple of days ago. Next I'll go pick some blueberries, then blackberries, and I really need to go through the green beans and pick them, some for supper and some for canning. I got a whole 0.15" of rain last night so I can stop watering long enough to see if we get anything out of this "event" tonight.

I like this time of the year. It sure is not boring.

Does anyone have any Frizzle Cochins for sale? A friend lost some of theirs to a predator and they would like to have more. He would probably take hatching eggs, too.

Greetings from your neighbors in Oklahoma! I'm posting here to remind Arkansas chicken friends that we're having a big chicken gathering in a few weeks. The North Eastern Oklahoma Chicken Stock (N.E.O.C.S.) will be held on June 16 (Saturday) at the Muskogee Fairgrounds. I know it's a long drive, but we've got a great day planned, so if you're looking for a way to spend a Saturday with other chicken enthusiasts, then come join us at N.E.O.C.S. We're expecting a lot of people to bring fabulous birds to sell, trade, and swap. If you are looking for hatching eggs, baby chicks, juvenile birds or adult birds, there will be plenty to choose from.

I'm starting to hear from sellers regarding what birds they will be offering in their sales spaces or in the Pay the Seller Poultry Sale. Here's a short list showing some of what will be available. Visit our planning thread (link in my signature line) for complete details. Also, we still have some space available in the barn for people to sell birds and bird related items. Send me a PM to reserve space.

How is everyone in Arkansas this morning?
Very tired. Got home from delivering a coop to Steel, Missouri at 3am. Could have slept half the day but Nicole (7) wanted to give daddy a hug and kiss.

Here is the finished coop with a few extras she wanted added. 6'W x 12' L and 5 nest buckets. Room enough for a very large flock.

Urgent!

We have several spaces reserved for the Arkansas Meetup/BYC folks at the NEOCS. Please contact them ASAP and let them know if you want one of our booths. Otherwise, I will be releasing them for others to use. Thanks,

Jim
