Thank you, I'm considering doing this and was wanting to know once you contact them how long it would be before they actually came out.  And what it would be like when they did show up to test your birds, what would they look at.

Don't know how long it takes for them to show up. Most likely depends on how booked up they are.
I have heard that they have to test 100% of your birds and if you have incubators they have to swab that. I'm not sure what else. I think there is a flat fee plus so much per bird and so much for the incubators.

That's about all I've heard though.

I think it is great to get it done! I hear bad things about certain peoples birds and won't buy from them... versus if you had a NPIP certification I'd feel better buying from you (that you don't have sick/diseased birds).

The problem with the NPIP testing is that what they test for hasn't been seen in AR in generations.

Any word on how this AI is going to affect these kind of sales?

I had a buyer lined up out of state for a bird and I am pretty sure that won't happen now.

I got on FB and got a hold of the lady that does the auction here and she said she hasn't gotten any notification on it that anything has to be done differently.

Personally I'm going to try not to bring anything home from places like that for now. I'll have a few chicks that I will be taking though.
When I say try not to, unless there us something there that is just do irresistible that I can't pass it up. I may have a place to quarantine it though if I find something.

I know what you mean. I have some roos who have got to go. I might make the trip down there this time just to re-home them. I am afraid to wait too long with this craziness going on. I am afraid someone in Government will get real stupid and make up some ridiculous rule that won't help the situation, just make life for us chicken owners more difficult.
